Dr. Diego Lessa

Veterinary Cardiology

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) and earned a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP).

He works as a veterinary cardiologist specializing in small animals, with extensive experience in electrocardiography, transthoracic and transesophageal 2D and 3D echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Lessa is the founder of Lessa Veterinary Cardiology and Lessa Courses & Training, where he delivers theoretical and practical cardiology programs, both in-person and online, with participation from veterinarians across South America, Central America, North America, and Europe.

Dr. Lessa is the author of scientific publications in veterinary cardiology, a frequent speaker at national and international congresses throughout Latin America, and co-author of the textbook Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine in Dogs and Cats by Claudio Bussadori.
